Zrnovci as
well as the villages Morodvis and Vidoviste, fulfil the
basic conditions for ecconomic growth. They possess significant
agricultural production, and they have small production
companies and basic communal infrastructure. Zrnovci has
few production companies of larger capacity, a water-station
in the vicinity,water supply system and sewerage for the
biggest part of the inhabitants. That gives significant
advantage for the future development and it could serve
as a good example for some other our villages, which are
progressive, and use the advantages of the urban environments,and
yet managed to save their function and identity.
The existing companies in Zrnovci: "RUEN", "ZRNOVKA ", "JUGOTUTUN" from
Vidoviste, then the companies for ready-made clothes production "ELMI-TEKS" -Zrnovci and "MOTEKS" from Morodvis, as well as the small trade companies,
are modest base which can trigger the development. With the present conditions,
they function facing a lot of difficulties, as the other companies in Macedonia.
They have very small accumulation to be in a position to influence the development
to a higher extent. However,they represent a good example that such production
companies can also function in the small villages. If the financial circumstances
improve, they will expand, thus improving the ecconomic position of the community.
If they get ecconomically stable and improve their accumulation, they should
be motivated to invest in the community. On the other hand the community
should in return offer some benefits to these companies so that they get more
attached
to it.
Development of the communal infrastructure
Very important prerequisite for economic and social development
is the improvment of the communal infrastructure. In all
these villages the need for better roads is evident, especially
their inter relations , as well as improvment of the road
Stip-Zrnovci-Vinica ; then decorating the bus stations
and the parking places. The inhabitants also travel by
bikes and small motor-bikes, therefore bicycle-paths are
also necessery. The road net in the villages themseves
should be bettered and better road infrastructure needs
to be provided ( sewerage outlets and channels, water wastepipes,
etc).
Except for the roads, the improvement of the electrical
grid, which needs strengthening, is also necessary.
The PTT (post-telegraph-telephone )system also requires
bettering as well as increasing the quantity of the telephone numbers. In
that
context a cleaning station should be planned, although the means necessary
for it cannot be provided from the domestic budget.
The communal infrastructure is the starting prerequisite
for opening new firms Without roads, electricity, PTT,
water and sewerage, they would not
be able
to find working space. Therefore creation and development of infrastructural
conveniences should be a concern of the community. Thus the community Zrnovci
may have an advantage over the other companies.
Development of the small production companies
The community Zrnovci offers conditions for development
of several sectors. The bases for it are the existing companies,
as well as the possession of raw-material bases from the
agricultural production such as rice, garden products,
cattle rearing. Yet the potential has not been reached
and there is little initiative for new production enterprises.
The possibilities should be seeked in small family companies
or in increased production of agricultural products.
By increasing their production they need
to start joining in order to have as their final products semi-finished healthy
food products. The eccologically positive parameters must result in a good
price and market, for the products from this area.
Increasing the production in all the agricultural sectors is the best way
of creating conditions for further development. It can be in the final production
of any product: rice, leek, pepper, fruit, milk, wool, honey, etc. The quality
of every agricultural product can be increased if it is produced in larger
quantities with good quality.
In Zrnovci, the production of the milk can also be improved,
and it can start producing various kinds of cheese,honey,
dried fruit, packadging leek and
pepper, etc. These types of small family business require small investmants,
but high
skill of working and knowledge as well as joining the work force.
Another possibility for the small production companies
can be found in producing metal products or their manufacturing;
then in producing wooden
semi-finished
products or building materials. There are also possibilities in the crafts
production, which can be brought to a higher level of quality. The family
production also takes its place here ; from wool preparation to its usage
for production.
Knitting and embroidering are also not without tradition in this region,
and they can also be a starting point of some small family business.
Development of the small service firms
In addition to the production activities, services also
play an important role in the ecconomic growth in our country,
the development of the trade companies and services for
the inhabitants in the community will be in prepartion
with the increase of the standard.
The development of the trade companies is dictated by
the market and the purchasing buying power of the customers.
However, those who offer better service trades
can improve, such as barbers, hairdressers, tailors, etc.
New prospective services are those for repair of the farming machines and
aparatuses, then for motor vehicles repair (trucks and cars), as well
as domestic equipment.
Blacksmith and spindler's workshops can direct towards
production of small series which are not produced alsewhere,
and they can be sold as souvenirs
( various wooden and metal items which were used in the past ). The mills
should be preserved as tourist attraction, and some aid must be offered,
so that this
craft is also preserved.
Restaurant service ( catering )
This kind of service is represented in the community
though in small proportion. However, there are few villages
in Macedonia with open restaurant with 400 seats. Then
another restaurant and several coffee-bars. The offerings
of this restaurants are favourable , and they need more
guests not only from the village. Therefore for their development
it is important to improve the general ambient, the hygiene
and the image of the village so that it is more appealing
to guests from Kocani and Vinica. They must create an image
of restaurants which offer good food and pleasant atmosphere
and they should be most concerned with the environment
of the village. They should also work on their labeling
and advertising their dishes ( specialities ).
The service activities are usually closely connected
with tourism though not in a typical way. They are
in charge of organizing performances and events
of commercial character, which will increase the number of the guests. For
instance some touring performances exhibition of folk-clothes, attractive
gatherings, or other similar events can be organized
in the open summer restaurant. Tourism
Various village performances, the folklor, the surroundings
with the monasteries and the river Zrnovka with its canyon
can be an interesting tourist attraction. In the beginning
they be a challenge and activity of the environmental organization " Javor " or
some other NGO. On favourable weather they might organize
performances ( in cooperation with the restaurants ), which
will attract the attention of the inhabitants.
Tourist tours may also be organized
with guests (students from the surrounding places), which
might include
visits to the monasteries, the spring of Zrnovka,
the mills, the water power station. These tourist tours if animated, might
be an income resourse which should be invested in making a tourist brochure.
A number of houses with unique architecture should be
restored and conserved and the interior of some be
decorated in the old traditional ambiance ( furniture,
folk-clothes, old items ). This would be a small contribution to preservation
of our natural and cultural inheritage, which still exists in Zrnovci.
The environment with the beautiful
village ambiance, the clean river with tidy banks, can
be interesting
for visitors. Although to a modest level,
it can
make the inhabitants feel proud with the village and its natural and
cultural inheritage.
Education
The development and the improvment of the education is
an important component in creating general conditions for
a life of higher quality. Except for the primary education
the school building can be used for other educational and
social activities. The students who attend secondary school
in Kocani, may choose such profession which will enrich
the educational and cultural life of Zrnovci.
In Zrnovci it is possible to organize courses and seminars
for education completion, for new activities, crafts,
in a similar fashion that the so called "workers" universities
organize in the towns. Such courses can educate the inhabitants for some ecconomic
activities, which will help them in some professions.The seminars for using
computers, environmental education etc, will help the young generation to be
well prepared for life. Organizing lectures of precious supplement of information
for the inhabitants.
Culture
Cultural events enrich the life of the people in contents
and quality. In future culture can be important segment
for better and happier life. Therefore the cultural activities
should be given higher importance. They need to meet the
interests and preferences of the inhabitants, from the
traditional village gatherings which can be enriched with
folklor and music, to cinema-plays of high quality, which
are again appealing to the young people. Organizing cultural
and artistic association may provoke interest for folklor,
folk costumes, painting, music band, etc. Zrnovci, Morodvis
and Vidoviste have houses of culture ; in Zrnovci there
is also a cinema and sports hall. It would take a little
effort to create commercial performances and cultural events
of high quality to animate and maintain the cultural life.
Sport
Sport activities, as well as the cultural ones, are the
most important " secondary " activity of the
people. Except for football matches, there is an interest
for other sports: small football, volleyball, basketball,
handball. They are nourished in the school, but the full
potential is not reached. The existence of the hall " Sokolana " and
the footbal pitch are good basis for richer sport life.
Some recreative sports for the inhabitants can also be
organized there as well as clubs of some sports for which
there is special interest. It might be a good idea to accompany
the traditional village gathering with sport performances
and tournaments with teams of the other surrounding villages.
Helth and social life
The health and the social life in the villages most offen
is below the necessary minimum. There is an out patient
clinic in Zrnovci, which offers good services, and exept
for a General Practitioner, there is also a dentist whose
care is the dental health. The clinic needs better equipment,
yet they manage to provide the ground for further improvment
of the health care.
The social life in the community is not a high level,
which is a result of the whole situation in Macedonia.
As a consequence of the low standard and
the high rate of unemployment, the possibilities of social welfare for the
unimployed or very poor people are low. Therefore the future development
must plan on a possibility for helping the poor, the
old alone people, and the disabled.
They can be helped by donations from the wealthier families or charity. This
attitude may also result in asking aid from the proper funds designed for
this purpose.
The non-governmental organizations may have positive
influence on the social and humane relations. Exept
for the Environmental organization " Javor " some
other such organizations need to be formed, for instance some women's associations,
for their bigger involvement in the social and humane care.
Zrnovci needs creating positive atmosphere of help, tolerance,
and cohabitation. These principles will lead the inhabitants
towards wealthier life. |
